The following are upcoming events for the Ypsilanti District Library. All Library events are held throughout the district's three locations: the Whittaker Road Branch, 5577 Whittaker Road; the Michigan Ave. branch, 229 W. Join Eric Hipple, of the U-M Depression Center, to learn more about the causes and symptoms of depression, including holiday depressionplus ways to cope. Eric is a former Detroit Lion who has devoted his life to depression awareness since his son's suicide.

Brain Health: Lifestyle Factors That Can Help Reduce Your Risk of Memory Problems: 1-3 pm November 22 at the Ypsilanti District Library, 5577 Whittaker Rd. Free. Drop in. Details: 482-4110 ext. 1377
Research shows that health conditions such as hypertension and diabetes can increase the risk of memory problems. Bruno Giordani, PhD, and Lourdes Velez, MD, will present their research findings and discuss the particular risks for African-Americans. Learn about lifestyle factors that have an impact on brain health and what you can do to reduce your risk of Alzheimer's disease. Information on community resources will be provided.
