The following are upcoming events for the Ypsilanti District Library. All Library events are held throughout the district's three locations: the Whittaker Road Branch, 5577 Whittaker Road; the Michigan Ave. branch, 229 W. Michigan Ave; and its newest Superior Township branch, located at 8975 Macarthur Boulevard.

Letterboxing is an outdoor hobby that combines elements of orienteering, art and puzzle solving. Letterboxers hide small boxes in easily accessible public places and distribute clues to help to find the boxes through websites. Letterboxes usually contain a log and a rubber stamp. Finders make an imprint of the letterbox's stamp on their personal logbook. Come learn from experienced letterboxer Michelle Trummell so that you and your family may take part in this charming pastime. Program suitable for teens and adults.

Recently, there has been increasing insistence on the part of media types and candidates that we are going to witness an historic election in 2008. There has been little said about the institutional forces that will probably make '08 indistinguishable from previous elections. We will consider both the newness and the sameness that November 4, 2008 may bring. Edward Sidlow, professor of political science at Eastern Michigan University, will be our speaker.
