Various neighborhood associations in the city organize the picnic, which is in its sixth year. Typically held in a park, the picnic was at the police station this year for the celebration of 150 years.
"One hundred and fifty years is a huge accomplishment," Ypsilanti Police Chief Matthew Harshberger said.
The Chief also said he looks forward to building more partnerships with the community in the future.
Robert Miller, treasurer of the CoPAC Board said having a picnic every year is a great way to bring all the neighborhood associations together.
"It draws all the people together and solidifies the neighborhood associations," Miller said.

The picnic ended at 3 p.m. after a lot of free food, a close-up look at police and fire vehicles and a visit by the Library Bookmobile.
