Hundreds came through the doors of The Corner Brewery Saturday to take a gander at the unique items offered at the Shadow Art Fair. Now, in its third summer, the art fair has grown in popularity according to Mark Maynard, who conceptualized the event.

Maynard said he and some friends of his had the idea a few years ago to create a small, casual art fair that people could escape to instead of attending the Ann Arbor Art Fair.
Organizers have gotten offers from national sponsors and have had the opportunity to make the event bigger according to Maynard. However, Maynard said organizers want to keep the fair small and unique.
"(The art) is not always sellable, but there are things people can see here that they won't see anywhere else."
Money collected from beer sales of the Shadow Brew, Shadow Art Fair T-shirts and donations are put toward grants given to local artists.
"We wanted to give back," Maynard said.
So far, Maynard said the fair raised $1,200 in grant money from this summer's fair.
