This past week, Lincoln took Ann Arbor Pioneer to 11 innings, and pulled out an 11-10 victory.
Sophomores Eddie Rackets and Terrell Williams led the team to victory on the mound.
"The kids played tough, they really did," Lozano said. "The younger guys are playing really well. We fought hard, we really did."
On May 3, Lincoln split a doubleheader with eighth-ranked Chelsea. Lincoln lost the second game, 7-1. In the first game, freshman Andrew Dillon threw a five-hitter for a 1-0 Rails victory.
"For a freshman to come out and do that, it took a lot of guts, that's for sure," he said. "A lot of poise. Can't beat it as a freshman."
Dillon and Corey Kelch are now both 2-1 on the mound this season. As for the Rails, they are 6-7-2.
Lozano continued to praise his younger players, particularly Rackets, Williams and Dillon.
"The kids are doing well," he said. "Eddie and Terrell and Andrew - (you) can't ask much more out of these guys."
This week, the Railsplitters have a busy schedule with eight games. Today they play, Tecumseh and then on Saturday they battle Romulus.
