Two bank robberies occurred last month at the Chase Bank, located in the 5400 block of East Huron River Dr. in Superior Township. Witnesses gave similar descriptions of the suspect for both robberies.
The first robbery occurred at approximately 9:40 a.m., April 2. The next one occurred April 21 at approximately 10:45 a.m.
Washtenaw County Sheriff's Deputies responded to both robberies.
The initial investigation has revealed that the robber, who is described as a white male in his 50's, approximately 5'10" tall, weighing about 225 pounds, walked into the bank and announced to a teller that it was a hold up.
The teller handed over cash, and the robber fled the building. Witnesses described him leaving the scene in an aqua-colored compact car.
Although a gun was implied, no gun was seen, and no one was injured during the robbery.
Cmdr. Dave Egeler from the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Dept. said he has not gotten any leads that have proven out but he said with the help of images captured on video camera he hopes the suspect will be identified.
"When you look at the quality of the photos someone has to be able to recognize this guy," Egeler said. Anyone with information about this crime or this robber's identity should contact the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office Tipline at 1-734-973-7711 or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAK UP.
