After defeating Garden City by a 104-33 margin on April 17, Ypsilanti varsity boys' track coach Torin Moore was asked who did well in the lopsided victory.

"Who didn't do well?" he said, who then proceeded to name off 38 players on his roster that had a good day.
"We did well in everything. Basically almost murdered this team."
Ben Hand stood out in the shot put for Ypsilanti with three tosses of 45 feet, 48 feet and 50 feet.
In the April Shower relays on Saturday, Ypsilanti defeated Belleville and Romulus.
The 4 by 400-meter relay team consisting of juniors E.J. Wilson, Marvon Sanders and Martez Dykes along with senior Taylor Moore posted a time of 43.6 seconds.
That time posted by the relay team is the fastest he has ever coached.
Strangely however, Moore said his relay team was merely "good" but not great. Does that mean he believes they will dip below the 43.6 seconds?
"Oh yeah, they will," said Torin Moore, sounding as confident as can be, adding that the relay team had bad exchanges with the baton stick.
"Oh yeah."
Ypsilanti ran at Trenton on Tuesday. On Friday, they'll compete at the Jackson Invitational.
"There will be some nice schools we haven't faced in a while - if even ever," he said about the Invitational.
With heavyweights such as Grand Blanc competing, Moore was asked if the Invitational was Ypsilanti's to lose.
"No," he said. "This is hard to call. I can call the state meet better than I can call this one."
He said he has "15 to 20 guys, if not more" compared to the five to six top guys he had last year on his tea.
He'll call out guys in track meets and practices who have the championship ring from last year by saying, "That's all you're going to give me?"
It has a good effect on the team. Last Wednesday, the team was bummed when he called off practice.
"It's the sign of a good team," he said. "Everybody wants a ring.
