The week in baseball for the Lincoln Splitters read more like the hockey standings in the National Hockey League. For the week the locals went 0-2-2.

Last Thursday against league rival Tecumseh the Splitters fell 7-2 in the first game. Zach Robbins took the loss on the hill giving up a grand slam in the fifth inning.
Assistant Coach Carlos Lozano said there were really three plays that made a difference in the game. The Tecumseh centerfielder robbed Lincoln of hit that would have scored three runs, a bad call at first base with two outs and the next batter hitting a grand slam.
The next game was a 1-1 tie that went eight innings. Andrew Dillon pitched five innings and Eddie Rakotz pitched three innings.
"They both pitched very well," Lozano commented. "Victor Roache hit a homerun for us in the one."
On Saturday at the Monroe Jefferson Invitational the locals went 0-1-1.
Lincoln lost Jefferson 5-4 in the eighth inning off a walk-off homerun. Corey Caldwell got the no decision and Mike Derry took the loss.
Caldwell also had a two-run homerun in the game.
In the second game of the tournament the locals tied the Melvindale Cardinals 8-8 in eight innings. Jarrett Dupuis and Terrell Williams combined for the tie.
"Terrell did an outstanding job of pitching," he said. "He really got us back in the game."
Nate Mullins was the big stick in that one going 3-for-4 with a double and an RBI.
The Splitters slip to 4-3-2 overall and 0-1-1 in the Southeast Conference. Today they are at Ann Arbor Pioneer and on Satu8rday they host Romulus for a double header.
