Thomas leads team in victory

Mikael Thomas had the game winning single last week to lead the Flyers of River Rouge 18-17 in Mega Gold baseball. Tyler Hamill threw three innings for the win.

He also had two hits. Thomas had an inside the park homerun and Sean Foster had four hits.
"We hit the ball well against them," Willow Run Coach Jeff Edwards said. "It was a good game and it came down to the last inning."
Later in the week the locals fell 11-5 to Dearborn Heights Robichaud. The Flyers trailed 5-1 in the fifth inning but gave up eight errors in the next three innings.
"Hamill pitched well," he said. "Our defense had problems later in the game."
In double-header action last week the locals fell 13-1 and 9-6 to Romulus. The first game only went five innings.
Trevor Gregg pitched the second game.
"I thought we played well," he said.
Willow Run slips to 2-3 overall and 1-1 in the Mega Gold. Tomorrow they host Highland Park for a pair.
