Last week, the locals swept a double-header from the Romulus Eagles of the Mega Blue. Willow Run won the first game 3-2.
Miranda Flemming took the win on the hill striking out nine and giving up four hits and one walk. The big stick in the first game was Jessie Dupont who was 2-for-3 with three runs scored.
"We played good defense," Flyer Coach Duane Edwards said. "We had zero errors and it was a nice game for it being the first time out for us."
In game two the locals won 6-2 but had two errors.
"It was nice to beat them. We have had trouble with Romulus in the past," Edwards said.
Flemming won the second game as well giving up five hits, striking out five and walking two. Shelby Johnson had a double, Charlise Randell had two doubles and Dupont had a big hit as well.
The Flyers are 2-0 overall and play a double header tomorrow at Dearborn Heights Robichaud. Yesterday they played at Dearborn and on Monday they hosted Dearborn Heights Crestwood.
