Two weeks into the season, the Lincoln lacrosse team has shown little in the way of weakness.

Head coach Jeff Daniels felt his team would encounter their first dose of real competition in last Tuesday's match up with Ann Arbor Gabriel Richard, but the Railsplitters came away with a 9-4 win and now sit at 4-0 on the season.
"We didn't jump out particularly strong but we did play pretty good," Daniels said. "We controlled our defensive half of the field and didn't let them get many scoring chances."
Lincoln had netted three goals before Richard took advantage of one of their few opportunities, and the Railsplitters' 5-2 halftime lead was as close as they would allow Richard.
Lincoln's attackmen - Alex Neitling, David Palmer and Kyle Anguilmoverwhelmed Richard's defensemen, and each recorded two goals.
"They had to work hard for their shots, but at some point in time it's hard to cover all three of them," Daniels said of the group that accounts for the bulk of the team's offense.
Daniels added that while his attackmen and middies controlled the play on offense, he was particularly pleased with the efforts of his defensemen.
"I think our defense is solid and they should carry the ball for us a lot of the time this season," he said. "They are keeping other teams from getting good opportunities, they're all playing well together, they're physical and it's a solid bunch of guys."
The one question mark Daniels felt remained at the beginning of the season was in the midfield, but several players who were out have returned and the middies are performing how Daniels had hoped they would.
"Gabriel Richard was better defensively than the other teams e we have played, but I think a big key for us early on was our middies," he said. "I've been very pleased with how they've responded going after ground balls, and we kept the play mostly in the offensive zone, which makes it hard for the other team to score."
Lincoln also met Dexter last week, defeating the young program 15-1.
The Railsplitters face Ypsilanti High School today at Ypsilanti and Royal Oak High School at Royal Oak on Saturday.
