Deputies have obtained an arrest warrant charging Antonio Lamont Williams, 35, with open murder.
Williams, who is from the Detroit area, is charged with the killing of Jeremiah Bernard Jones, 22, of Ypsilanti.
Police believe the shooting was related to a dispute, which occurred on the evening of March 16, at a townhouse in Superior Twp.
Witnesses reported multiple shots fired. Jones was reportedly shot at least once. He was transported to St. Joseph Hospital in Superior Twp. where he was pronounced dead.
Williams is described as 5'7" tall, weighing approximately 180 lbs. He should be considered armed and dangerous according to the sheriff's department.
Commander Dave Egeler said Williams has been in trouble with the law before.
"He currently has at least one warrant for his arrest right now," Egeler said.
Egeler would not discuss what led to the naming of the suspect or what the alleged dispute between Williams and Jones was regarding.
Anyone who knows Williams' whereabouts should call the Washtenaw County Sheriff's Office at 1-734-973-7711, any police agency, or Crime Stoppers at 1-800-SPEAKUP.
