"Last year we finished third in the Southeast Conference," Allen said. "We finished ahead of Tecumseh and Adrian."
The girls lost in the first round of the playoffs to powerhouse Saline.
The two seniors captains on the team are defender Lindsay Neel and midfielder Jacki Adkins. Another key senior on the team is forward Candace Sims.
The keeper is junior Brooke Hogan. Key sophomores who played last year were defender/midfielder Kelsey Janowiak and midfielder Brittany Ripple. Allen expects good things from sophomore Alexa Budd.
"I have a lot of confidence is this team," she said. "It could be one of the most successful teams we have had. They have a lot of desire and capability."
The tough teams in the SEC according to Allen are Dexter, Ann Arbor Pioneer, Saline and Chelsea.
The Rails begin play on Thursday at Monroe Jefferson. Friday is the first home game of the season and they play Pinckney. Other non-league teams this season include Howell and Romulus.
