The Ypsilanti men's track team will be led by some powerful seniors this season. At the helm is senior sprinter Marvon Sanders who already finished second in the state in Division 2 last season in the long jump.

He will be attending Eastern Michigan University on a full scholarship for football in the fall. Sanders runs the 200, 400 and the 400 and 800-meter relays as well.
Martez Dykes is back and this senior runs just as fast on the track as with a football. He will be running the 100, 200, and 400-meter runs. Dykes also runs the 400 and 800-meter relays and helps out on shot when needed. Senior E.J. Wilson runs hurdles and the sprints as well as relays and such field events as the high jump and the long jump.
Other key seniors on the team include sprinter and high jumper Kevin Adkins, high jumper and 400-meter runner Wayne Gordon; shot putter Ben Hand and sprinter Jeremiah Turman.
Key juniors are Al Backey who runs middle and distance, Mitchell Long who runs sprints and relays and Ja'quan Patterson who runs sprints and has already long jumped twenty-one feet and eleven inches.
Sophomore Terrance Moore will run sprints and middle distance, Kyle Woodyard will run distance and Dominique Lynch (a transfer from Belleville) will run sprints and be on several relays.
"The Red has some tough teams," Moore said.
Ypsilanti opens at home on April 1 with Monroe High.
