With the help of seven assistants total for both programs, Moore is looking for continued success for the Lady Phoenix this season.
Defending two-time state champion Kyra Caldwell is back as a senior and looking to defend her titles in the 100-meter and 300-meter hurdles. She already finished second at an earlier meet for the 60-meter hurdles held at an indoor meet a couple weeks ago.
Senior Sha'meka Hamilton is looking to run strong in the 100 and 300-meter hurdles, the 200, 400 and distance events as well. Senior Carmisha Bell will compete in the shot and has already turned in a toss of thirty feet early this season. Senior Liz Delcamp will run distance for the Phoenix.
Junior Talecia Francois will run the sprints, hurdles, relays and compete in the long jump. Sophomores who are key this year will be Kenniea Jackson in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes and Katie Mattie in the middle and long distance events.
Freshman Anna Kluitenberg will run distance and Delisia Morris will run the sprints, hurdles and a few relays.
"The Red is a tough league," Moore said. I expect Monroe to be one of the top teams."
Ypsilanti High will find out just how tough the Trojans are when they open with then at home on April 1.
