Ypsilanti police were called to the first block of N. Normal Street at 2:36 a.m. on Tuesday, March 18 on a report of breaking and entering. The female victim said she was awakened by the sound of her bedroom window being opened and saw a black man in his 30s, with a thin build and wearing a green knit cap entering the room.

Realizing the victim was awake, the man said, "I thought George lived here" and fled. The police K-9 unit tracked the suspect to the area of Abe's Coney Island, where the scent was lost.
The Ypsilanti Neighborhood Policing Team of Bradley Compton and Zachary Allen were on patrol in the 500 block of Emmet Street 9:30 p.m. Tuesday, March 18, when they recognized a man as being wanted on a felony warrant for marijuana from the Ypsilanti Police Department.
Upon arresting the man, they found a quantity of marijuana and a large amount of cash on him. The man said he had been on his way to visit his girlfriend.
The officers contacted the girlfriend to tell her the man way going to jail instead of her apartment. When she opened the door, the officers smelled marijuana and asked for her consent to search the apartment, which she gave.
Inside, the officers found crack cocaine, a scale containing white powder residue, razor blades and a quantity of plastic bags. The woman was arrested, booked and later released. The man was held on the outstanding warrant.
Gun use threatened
Ypsilanti police officers responded to a call at 2:29 a.m. last Thursday of a man threatening victims with a gun in the 200 block of N. Washington Street.
The two female victims said they had been outside when a black sedan had pulled up and the former boyfriend of one of the victims had gotten out a pulled a black semiautomatic gun on them.
The suspect put the gun to his own head and said he thought his former girlfriend was not treating their children right. The suspect then said the victim would get one more chance, but made more nonspecific threats.
Officers went to the suspect's last known address, but the residence appeared to be vacant. A warrant is being sought for his arrest.
Discharge of handgun
Ypsilanti police officers were called to the 900 block of Railroad Street upon a report of a gun being fired.
The victim and two of his friends said the suspect a man nicknamed "Rock," had fled the scene by the time officers arrived. They described "Rock" as a black man in his 20s, five-foot ten-inches tall, 160 pounds. He had been wearing black, jeans, black sweater and black boots, with a white skull cap over his braids.
The gun was described as possibly being a revolver. When the gun discharged, the slug had hit the wall and no one was injured. The suspect remains at large.
