Senior captain Corey Caldwell will lead
PUBLISHED: March 20, 2008
Ypsilanti Lincoln Coach Marty Lozano is excited about his first full-year under the helm of the Splitters. Last year the team went 12-18 overall and fell in the second round of district play to Ypsilanti High.

The Splitters beat Ann Arbor Huron in the first game but fell to the Phoenix in the bottom of the seventh inning.
"I want to see what the kids can do this year," Lozano said. "They have been working out and this year I took the job from the start of the season."
Key core players on the team include senior captain and catcher Corey Caldwell as well as senior Michael Derry who will play second base.
Junior Victor Roach will play centerfield, junior Eddie Rakotz will play infield and pitch and junior Terrell Williams will play catcher, pitcher and outfield.
One very important returning player for Lincoln is sophomore-pitching ace Andrew Dillon who will also play shortstop.
Lozano said the Southeast Conference is a tough one and the White Division has some good teams. He said Chelsea should be the team to beat but adds that Dexter, Tecumseh and Adrian are all good teams as well.
The non-league schedule for Lincoln will include Wayne Memorial, Belleville and tournaments at Farmington and Eastern Michigan University.
"Our league is tough," he said. "We now have two teams in the summer program and I can't wait till we get a freshmen team."
On April 1 the Rails open at New Boston Huron and the next day they are scheduled to host Ypsilanti High.
Lozano is assisted by his son Carlos who he credits as being one of the reasons he took the job in the first place
