State Representative Kathy Angerer (D-Dundee) said Stuart Dowty and Noel Deblacam really stood out as two people who had supported her since she has been in office.
"I thought they might enjoy a first-hand view of the governor's speech and I was proud to invite them," Angerer said.
Dowty and Deblacam carpooled to from Pittsfield Township to Lansing January 29 to attend Governor Jennifer Granholm's state of the state.
"It was a great experience for me," Deblacam said. "I haven't been in the Capital Building since I was eight years old."
Dowty and Deblacam said they were surprised to get a call from Angerer's office inviting them to the event.
Dowty said it is hard to pick the highlight of the evening. He said the whole event was celebratory.
"Everybody is in the spirit of the event," Dowty said.
As volunteers for Angerer, Dowty and Deblacam said they are always glad to work with Angerer on her campaigns.
"She's an exceptionally hard worker," Dowty said. I think the fact that she is assistant majority floor leader shows what kind of person she is."
Dowty and Deblacam said they are always happy to work with Angerer and will continue to support her.
"She is an excellent representative and we look forward to her next term," Dowty said.
