Poster contest winners announced: Several Ypsilanti students received first place in their respective categories for the annual NAAPID poster contest.

Jhenielle Thompson, a student at Perry Child Development Center won first place in the kindergarten category andElizabeth Le won first place in the upper elementary category. Winners will receive a U.S. Savings Bond.
Support staff contrcts OK'd: Following the completion of negotiations in December 2007, the Ypsilanti Support Staff Association voted Jan. 22 and the Ypsilanti Education Association voted January 24 to approve three-year contracts. The YPS Board of Education approved the contracts at the Jan. 28 meeting.
Staff will receive a 1 percent annual raise for the next two years, leaving the third year salary package open for negotiation in the 2009-10 school year.
