The thought had to be in the back of David Palmer's mind on Saturday night.

But the Lincoln hockey star wouldn't totally admit it.
Palmer picked up his 100th career goal in a 5-2 win over Lincoln Park. Lincoln was up 2-0 in the second period.
Jarrett Pfeiffer scored the first goal of the game in the first period from Ryan Elkins and Jason Himes.
Palmer's first goal of the game came at the 6:09 mark of the second period from Nikko Keider. Palmer scored on the power play with 3:40 left in the second period for his second goal of the game. Corey Pfeiffer and Jarrett Pfeiffer assisted the goal. The Splitter led 3-0.
Lincoln's Keider would score with 1:29 left in the second period and Palmer assisted it. The locals led on the road 4-0 at the end of the second period.
After two periods of play Lincoln had 16 shots on net and Lincoln Park had 15 shots.
In the third period the Rails of Lincoln Park scored with 12:27 left in the game. Lincoln's Carter added another goal at the 7:04 mark of the period. Jarrett Pfeiffer and Corey McIsaac assisted it.
The final goal of the game was short-handed by Lincoln Park's Gary Smith.
Palmer said he did have it in the back if his head about scoring his 100th goal.
"I was thinking about the game and things started to flow," Palmer said. "I couldn't do it without my teammates. It did lift a lot of weight off my shoulder and we could go out and do what we needed to do."
Palmer said he was only aware of the record two games ago and getting the hat trick against Pioneer helped him out.
"Our goaltender (Zack) Arnold played outstanding tonight," he said. "He really stood on his head and our defense got into it."
Lincoln Coach Mike Ferguson was very impressed with the way his team played and how well his goalie played for the win.
"We played well against the first place team in the Mega," Ferguson said. "It will really help us in the league tournament and where we get seeded. The kids are playing up."
He said he was very pleased that Palmer got his 100th goal.
"I know Dave was looking forward to that goal," he said. "The next closest to him in school history is like 35 goals. That is quite an accomplishment."
Earlier in the week the Rails fell to Ann Arbor Pioneer 8-3. The game had 27 penalties and two Lincoln players were ejected along with one Pioneer player.
Palmer scored all three goals for Lincoln in the loss.
"It was a hard game to play," Ferguson said. "There were 73 minutes in penalties for the game and six of their eight goals came on the power play."
Only one of Lincoln's goals came on the power play.
"They got the better of the power play," he said. "Our short bench really hurt us when we lost those players. We lost one guy off our first line."
The Splitters improve to 9-8 overall and will play at Chelsea on Saturday and yesterday they were at Bedford. The game against Willow Run was scheduled for last Friday but was postponed due to bad weather. It has not been rescheduled yet.
