The motto of Kiwanis International is "Serving the children of the world and improving the quality of life worldwide."

In order to follow that motto, Ypsilanti Kiwanis financially supports some 20 non-profits in the Ypsilanti area. Many volunteers affiliated with these nonprofits spend hundreds of hours and work tirelessly for the betterment of our community without recognition.
In order to give individuals the recognition they deserve, Ypsilanti Kiwanis annually honors an individual who exemplifies outstanding community service.
For her volunteer efforts in behalf of several local community organizations, Patti Eaton was the first such honoree in 2007, the award's inaugural year.
Nominate your favorite volunteer by sending their name and a description of their volunteer efforts to Ypsilanti Kiwanis, 311 N. Wallace, Ypsilanti, 48197 or e-mail the information to kbnickels@aol.com.
