Ypsilanti police officials say the shooting was the result of a drug deal gone wrong.
One victim, a 17-year-old boy, is reported to be in stable condition at St. Joseph Mercy Hospital with a gunshot wound to the thigh.
The second victim, a 20-year-old man, is listed in critical condition at St. Joe, suffering from five gunshot wounds to various parts of his body. Both were taken to the hospital by Huron Valley Ambulance.
Officers responded to a call at approximately 1:45 a.m. and found the two victims, both Ypsilanti residents, in the street.
The victims admitted to officers that they had gone to the house on Madison Street to buy marijuana.
The victims said they did not know the identity of the shooter. They also said a third man had gone through a closed window to avoid being shot.
Although there were several witnesses to the shooting, Sgt. Troy Fulton said police were not receiving any cooperation from area residents in their investigation.
Officers have canvassed the neighborhood and are continuing to learn more details about the shooter.
Anyone with any information on this incident is asked to call the Ypsilanti Police Department at 483-9510.
