With the Railsplitters still sputtering at 0-10, head coach Mike Foley decided to look at all his options - including those on the school's junior varsity roster.

The presence of sophomores CJ Lavene and Latwan Wesley in their first varsity level game against Adrian on Thursday is what Foley attributed to the team's relative success.
Lincoln lost 58-48 in overtime, but Foley was happy with the experiment's results.
"I've never faced this situation in my coaching career at Lincoln and there comes a time when it's time for change," he said. "My senior leadership has had 10 games and they haven't gotten the job done, so we're bringing up these guys, not only looking toward the future, but looking toward change."
Despite a few costly mistakes down the stretch that helped Adrian force overtime, Foley was pleased with how the two fared.
"They came in and did a great job," he said. "They brought a lot of team atmosphere that was missing before and got rid of the selfish basketball we've been playing for a long time. They helped put us in a position to win."
That Lincoln took the game the game to overtime was a lucky break. With the game tied at 47 Adrian in-bounded from under their own basket and drew a foul.
Senior Brett Ohrman took the one for one attempt, but missed, sending the game into the extra session.
"They had the momentum going into overtime and they were able to keep the lead," Foley said.
Adrian went six for eight on free throw attempts in overtime.
Ryan Walton led the Splitters with 18 points and Nate McMullan added 15.
