Yancey was sentenced to 93 days in jail and a $500 fine, as a result of the no contest plea. The incident occurred when Giszczak refused to give Yancey some documents she requested. Giszczak said her arm was injured a result of the shoving.
Yancey denied the charges at the time, however Yancey pleaded no contest to the charges in December.
She was fired by the Board of Trustees last July in part because of the alleged assault. They also denied her unemployment benefits, which she is still fighting for.
The jail sentence was delayed for one-year contingent on her going to anger management classes and doing 20 hours of public service.
Yancey also will have to pay $750 in court costs and have to report to the state police for fingerprinting
Giszczak suggested that Yancey go through an anger management program rather than serve the 93 days so she could be with her children.
Giszczak said Yancey had been openly hostile to her since she took office in 2004. Giszczak said Yancey had even held her and two other employee's hostage on April 13.
Giszczak also said she had complained about the receptionist's behavior to Supervisor Kathy Jackson and other board members, but got little response until after the July 18 assault.
At the time Jackson said Giszczak had exaggerated Yancey's behavior, particularly the hostage incident. But Jackson also admitted she had probably been too lax when it came to disciplining Yancey.
