While in a lot of communities, the upcoming Aug. 3 primary
might be the prelude to the general election in November, in the communities
served by the Ypsilanti Courier the Democratic primary will decide
who will serve in the various local offices.
That’s because where there is any competition at all for a
particular elected office, that competition is between Democrats, and in a
lot of cases, those Democrats will face no opposition from another party in
the November general election.
And that means the vote for the candidates in those
particular offices will be decisive and will determine who is going to win
election.
